Bronwen began playing the fiddle at the age of six, quickly becoming a regular competitor at local and Mòd competitions. Her early talent was recognised with the Highlands and Islands Most Promising Player Award, alongside numerous other competition successes.
At eleven she added tenor drumming to her musical repertoire, going on to become an experienced player and composer. She served as Lead Tenor Drummer for Islay Pipe Band for five years, and has since played with Johnstone Pipe Band and the Police Scotland & Federation Pipe Band, both in Grade 1. Bronwen also teaches extensively, working as a tutor at the National Piping Centre and with Strathmore Schools Pipe Band, as well as previously teaching for Sgoil Lionacleit Pipe Band, Fèis Latharna, and Oban High School Pipe Band. She took up the Highland pipes at thirteen, competing in solo events and performing with pipe bands, and has also received tuition in both piano and flute.
In 2022 Bronwen completed a four-year Honours degree in Applied Music at the University of the Highlands and Islands, where she further developed her skills in performance, composition, and music education.
Since 2017, she has been a member of the Scottish band Rhuvaal, performing at festivals and events across Scotland and even as far afield as Trieste, Italy. The vibrant young group continues to make a strong impact on the traditional music scene, releasing their debut EP Horizon in 2020 and, more recently, their singles “Loch Carron” and “Poaching Days.”
